Giveaway – Personalize Two MyOwnStory.com Stories, Five Winners!

My Own Story makes your child the star of his or her own story.  Parents and caregivers are given the tools to build customized stories which help children better adapt to a wide range of events and topics. Their collection of stories covers subject matter that is significant to children and their families, such as a having a new baby in the family, the first day of school, going to the dentist, moving to a new city, and many more. These stories were prepared under the careful guidance of educators, doctors, and child development specialists, and provide a supportive narrative which parents and their children can work together to customize in a matter of minutes.

Kids love having their own content on a parent’s laptop, and they love seeing their name in books. My Own Story gives you both! Here’s how it works:

  • Go to the Collection of Stories page and pick a story.
  • Once you make a selection, you will be asked to fill in the specificities in order to personalize the story for your child. This should only take a few minutes.
  • Directly upon completion, you will receive your own customized story which will include the illustrations and which you can print out for immediate use. Your completed storybook will also be saved your own private and password protected Story Archive and will be available for you to view at any time.

It’s that easy! Available stories include:

  • Daddy is in the Military
  • Going to the Dentist
  • I’m Allergic to…
  • Learning to Use the Potty
  • Mommy and Daddy are Getting a Divorce

and more. For Kaitlyn, I let her choose, and she picked First Day of School and Going to the Dentist. What’s interesting about that is that she LOVES the dentist and school!

Each My Own Story can be personalized with your child’s name, parents’ names, and then personal information like the names of teachers, schools, doctors, clothing colors, and more.  Stories are sixteen pages, each illustrated beautifully with black and white pencil drawings accented with pops of color. I took a screenshot and put a border around it to make it easier to see:

Holiday Gift Guide-MyPacifier Personalized Pacifiers

MyPacifiersInvented by Pia Callesen, a Danish Mom who often picked her son up from daycare and found some other child’s pacifier in his mouth (ewww!), MyPacifier was the first company to start selling personalized pacifiers in the USA. Pia didn’t want to write her child’s name on his pacifier with permanent marker, she wanted a pacifier that already had his name on it. No one was selling them, so Pia started MyPacifier as a way to sell parents a stylish pacifier they could personalize with any name! At three for $15.00, the price is higher than buying a pack in the drugstore, but if having your child’s name on the pacifier means it won’t end up in some other kid’s mouth at daycare? That is totally worth it. Check out all the great designs in the MyPacifier shop.
