My daughter loves Playmobil, especially the 1.2.3 line. The pieces are bigger which makes them easier for little hands to hold, the colors are bright, and there’s always lots of great detail. Playmobil very generously sent us their Large Farm for review, and Kaitlyn loves it!

Kaitlyn with Playmobil Farm (and a big smile!)
It came with the house mostly assembled, I just had to snap on the side panels and the peaked roof. The rest of the pieces come in a few large bags, I had to snap the tree top onto the trunk, and assemble the horse cart. Pieces like the table and chairs attach snugly to the side plates but were easy for Kaitlyn to remove and move. When she got the table in chairs in place and put the three included people on the chairs, she ran to get play food from her Calico Critters Kitchen so they would have something to eat.

Next, I helped her snap on the dividers that go between the animals and she got the cow, sheep, and pig in place. What I like best about this playset is that when your child is done playing, they put all the accessories into the middle of the house and then the side panels fold up so the whole thing can be stored away neatly. Good thinking, Playmobil!

Cow, Sheep, Pig, and feeding trough are included
The box says for ages 1 1/2 and up, Kaitlyn is 4 1/2. I would say that kids under three would have a problem snapping pieces in place but with help, I think kids as young as 1 1/2 would enjoy playing with this playset. There are no small pieces but of course you want to watch carefully at any age.
Now, at $54.99, this is not a cheap toy. However, it would be a great gift suggestion for a birthday or Christmas, the pieces are good sized and sturdy, and my experience with Playmobil is that their playsets last and last. This could very well be a toy you buy now and pass on for years to other kids. Quality toys are always a good investment!
