Douglas Cuddle Toys Playtivity Giveaway – Win Five Plush Activity Toys!

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ! Due to a miscommunication on my part, I mistakenly announced that this giveaway was for the entire Playtivity line which is not the case. The giveaway is for five products in the winner’s choice of animal. Douglas Cuddle Toys is THE retailer for the softest, cuddliest plush toys.  What makes them unique is the variety of plush animals they carry, from traditional kitties, puppies, and teddy bears to more unexpected ones like a hermit crab with a shell, buffalo, even a plush woolly mammoth. For their littlest fans, Douglas has introduced the Playtivity line of toys meant to soothe, comfort, entertain, and educate. There are five Playtivity Activity products, each available in four animals, and the winner of this giveaway gets one of each in the animal of their choice thanks to Douglas Toys!

All three of my kids were big fans of plush toys that rattled and crinkled, Kaitlyn had this butterfly with crinkly wings that she took everywhere when she was around 8 months old.  Even though she’s 5 1/2 now,  she picked a Playtivity Kitty for our review and I’ve caught her cuddling it a couple of times :)  It’s a long time before most kids outgrow the love of soft, plush toys, and Douglas Cuddle Toys has something for almost every age!

11″x7″ ultra soft and colorful Playtivity Kitty Cuddle Pal. Complete with crinkles, rattles, squeaks and meowing sound this take-along friend is perfect for play, fun and comfort. This is the one Kaitlyn chose because she loved it’s cute face. Then when we got it and she squeezed the tummy and heard the meowing sound, she said “this is a great toy for a baby!”  We’re planning to pass it on to her preschool teacher who just had a baby girl :)

13″ ultra soft and colorful Playtivity Dog Pullee Zip. Pull the “pullee zip” and watch it wiggle and jiggle it’s way up. Complete with satin tags and a sturdy clip to carry along on stroller or car seat. I loved clipping pull toys like these to my kids’ carseat handles and watching their faces as it jiggled it’s way back up!

Webkinz Jr. Plush Toys and Website

Ganz, the maker of the insanely popular Webkinz line of small plush toys that come with codes that unlock a virtual world, has created a line of toys just for littler kids called Webkinz Jr. They sent us our choice of toy, and Kaitlyn picked this cute and very soft Pink Puppy who she has named, not surprisingly, “Pink Puppy”.

Each plush toy comes with a code that you use to get started on the Webkinz Jr. website. Your child controls their pet and where it goes, areas include the pet’s home, a school, and a store for buying home decorations, clothes, toys, and snacks. Kaitlyn needed me to do the actual controlling while she told me where to go and what to click on. Unlike the original Webkinz site, Webkinz Jr. does not have a social networking aspect, so you don’t have to worry about accepting friend requests or chatting or anything like that. Kaitlyn put me in charge of controlling the pet with the mouse while she told me where to go, what to click on, what to buy. It was a fun way for us to play online together!

Our Webkinz Jr. Pink Puppy is so soft and cuddly, it’s a great gift for a child of any age. The parent can always hang on to the code and use it to activate the website account when the child is ready.

Buy It: There are only a few listed on Amazon.com, so I’d recommend calling your local Toys “R” Us store first to see if they have the pets in stock. The price listed on their site is $24.99. Suggested age range is three to six years.

This is such a cute giveaway! Kidstuff PR sent me the book Nana Star, written by Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice and illustrated by Linda Saker, which comes with an accompanying CD, and an adorable Nana Star plush doll. My daughter’s eyes lit up when she saw the doll, and she happily settles into my lap at night to read the book. We haven’t listened to the CD yet, I have to confess.

Nana Star tells the story of a little girl who finds a lost and scared baby star and decides to help him find his way home, thus thinking of herself as the star’s “Nana” or Grandma. She gets help from a tall tree (which explains the branch that the doll is holding), too. The book tells a very wonderful story about a little girl with love to share in her heart, and helping someone because it feels good to help, and it’s illustrated with very sweet and simple drawings. The creator of Nana Star, Elizabeth Owens, is the REAL Nana Star, her eldest daughter Linda is the illustrator, and her granddaughters Elizabeth and Elena are the writers and publishers of the book. The book came about from Elizabeth Owens’ special relationship with her grandson Vance, and the hand-illustrated cards she would send him. Her characters Nana Star and Moonman were her way of letting Vance know that she was always with him. How sweet!
