Shop, Save, Share and Earn at Buxr

buxr_logoAs if the Internet wasn’t already awesome enough, nowadays with just a few mouse clicks, you can find coupons, discounts, sales, and deals on just about anything you want to buy.  Buxr is a site that lets you share the deals you find, shop for them right from the site, AND earn cash prizes for posting the best deals!

It works like this- sign up for a Buxr account or sign in using your Google account. You can use the site without registering for it, but if you do register, you get these great benefits:

  • Participate in deal contests
  • Customize deals view to your preference (coming)
  • Flag dead & expired deals

Web Publishers:

  • Make money with commissions from the Buxr Deals Widget
  • Manage your widget and track widget performance

I recommend clicking the Watch Video link in the top right corner of the site for a terrific tutorial on how to get the most out of the site.  Then, browse the Latest Hot Deals on the left side of the screen. Use the dropdown menu to choose Hot Deals from the last one through five days.

You can also search for coupons for popular brands like Dell and Amazon.com, read and participate in Active Discussions about deals, see winners and top contributors, and get links to deals expiring that day.  You can also customize the main page by adding or subtracting modules so that you always see what you are most interested in first.

Deals can be something that’s free, on sale, a printable or in-store coupon, or just a really great price for something.  You can search by category, and once you are on a deal page, see any other deals for that same manufacturer or store. I’ve registered for a  Free Kraft Savings Booklet and Calendar, printed a page of dollar-off coupons for Meijer, and made a note of a great deal on a box fan at Home Depot. And I didn’t have to visit three separate sites to do it!

Submit deals and WIN CASH! The members who lists the best online deals of the day win $10 each  and/or $5 for submitting the best in-store only offer. In addition the winner who gains the most votes overall during the contest day will receive a bonus $5 on top of his/her award.

Buxr asked me for my feedback on the site itself, and I have one suggestion. It can be hard to find areas of the site, there were pages I didn’t know existed until I happened to click on something. I’d like to see a Navigation Bar all the way across the top of the site with links to each internal page. For example, to get to the Dashboard Module page I mentioned above, I had to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the main page and click “add module”. A link at the top to the Dashboard would be much easier to use.

Other than that, I think Buxr is a really great idea and I appreciate having links to so many different kinds of deals in one place.  So, MomReviews readers, take a minute and go check out Buxr. You’re going to shop anyway, you might as well save money!

Crayola Beginnings Baby Slide & See is a magical way to introduce babies to their first coloring experience. There are six pictures, each representing a different color, and by simply pulling the tab, baby can “color” the black and white images. For children 6 months and up; suggested retail price is $9.99.

Crayola Beginnings TaDoodles Ta-Doodler is a soft and cuddly bear buddy that becomes a canvas for your child’s imagination. With one quick swipe of a damp cloth, the scribbles disappear and the “TaDoodling” fun can start again! Two different musical modes set the tone for different activities — a lively tempo for coloring and creating, and a slower, soothing melody for quiet time. For children 18 months and up; suggested retail price is $29.99.

Crayola Beginnings Tub Time Tracers bring colorful, creative fun to toddler’s bath time. These nontoxic washable crayons wash away from walls when bath time is done. Color Surge Camp Rock gives fans of the hit Disney movie a chance to put their favorite stars in a spotlight of brilliant colors with colors like “amped-up apricot” and “high voltage violet” when Color Surge markers meet the super bright paper. Crayola Sidewalk Crayons offer kids more than pretty pastels to create outdoor masterpieces. Pip-Squeaks Colored pencils may be smaller than their full-size Crayola counterparts, but they pack a big punch of bold color that inspires kids to travel wherever their creativity takes them. Whimsical color names like “blue suede shoes,” “goldfish” and “wacky watermelon” give children the opportunity to put their huge imaginations to paper. For children 4 and up; suggested retail price is $4.99 for the 18-ct. Pip-Squeaks Colored Pencils.

Pip-Squeaks Glitter Glue is the perfect compact size for jazzing up art projects with bright, bold shimmering colors. With 16 whimsical shades, there’s always a hue that will do. For children 4 and up; suggested retail price is $4.99 for a set of 16-ct. Pip-Squeaks Glitter Glue.

Crayola Color Switchers are dual-ended markers that allow kids to magically change the colors of their drawings with a swoosh of the “color switch” tip. Each Color Switcher features a broadline marker on one side and a clear-ink tip marker on the other. The clear ends reveal their true colors when kids color over the marks they’ve made. Kids can draw a red house with one end of the marker and then switch sides to add yellow windows. For children 6 and up; suggested retail price is $4.99 for a set of 6 dual-ended Color Switchers markers.

Crayola Window Crayons are creamy, colorful drawing tools that let kids transform car windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces into instant decorations. Their bright, bold colors lay down smoothly and dry quickly without smudging. And when it’s time to redecorate, colors wipe clean with a damp cloth. Crayola Window crayons will keep kids’ creativity flowing with endless options for coloring and drawing on any glass surface. For children 6 and up; suggested retail price is $5.99.

Compare prices and save money with SHOP.com

We’re all stretching our dollars further and further, and Christmas shopping shouldn’t be the exception. You can find just the items you are looking for at the best prices possible by using comparison shopping site SHOP.com. It’s so easy to use, too.

Nathan has been asking for one thing over and over for Christmas, and that’s an Automoblox car. I went to SHOP.com and typed in Automoblox in the search bar, and got 27 matches. I sorted the matches by price: lowest to highest, and found the exact Automoblox Sports Car that Nathan wants, from a site called Flaghouse.

Now, what makes SHOP.com the most useful is their OneCart checkout. You can fill your shopping cart with items from different sites, and just make one payment for everything. That is so handy! If you don’t have a specific item in mind, you can use the Categories at the top of the site to browse departments, or look along the left side of the page for more links and buying guides.

Oh, and there’s a Music Shop where you can listen to music before you buy it! Very cool.  There are a few changes I would love to see, like having toddler and older kids’ clothes and shoes be in separate sections, or being able to search for toys by age, but for the most part, this site is very helpful and I highly recommend you look up whatever you have on your gift list on SHOP.com first before spending more money somewhere else!
