It’s been seen on blogs all over the Internet, and now the dolphin bubbles video has been seen on ABC World News! Correspondent Charlie Gibson introduced the segment that showed the amazing video of dolphins at SeaWorld Orlando playing with bubble rings while the SeaWorld staff explains what you are watching. It’s 3 minutes long, watch and you’ll see…
The trainers explain that they think one dolphin figured out that a puff of air blown from it’s blowhole formed a ring, and that by pushing it with their noses and even moving their noses in a circle to get the water around the ring moving, they could make the bubbles change shape and move. You can see them playing with the rings together, chasing them, trying to pop them. Dolphins are very intelligent, and this shows that they figure out how to entertain themselves!
I can’t wait to see the dolphins for myself when I attend IZEAfest at SeaWorld Orlando this coming October. I haven’t been to a SeaWorld since 1999, and that was the SeaWorld in Ohio which has since been closed. So not only do I get to go to SeaWorld, I get to go to SeaWorld in Orlando, AND participate in the awesome conference that is IZEAfest. Yay!
