I was thrilled to be asked to review the New York Times book Obama: The Historic Journey: Young Reader’s Edition . This wonderful book combines beautiful photographs and in-depth coverage of Obama’s voyage from “a skinny kid with a funny name” to the 44th President of the United States. Readers learn about the Primaries, the Electoral College, as well as personal information about Mrs. Obama and the First Daughters Sasha and Malia.
I think this is a terrific book for kids and parents alike. Amazon.com recommends it for readers ages 9-12, younger kids may not be able to understand the text, but they will surely enjoy looking at the pictures.
