Yes, this really is MomReviews

Hey everybody, I know it looks pretty different around here, what do you think?

As much as I liked the previous theme, it had not been updated in a long time and wasn’t optimized well for Google searches. I clicked a link on Sparkplugging for free SEO themes and found this one, which you might recognize as the old eMoms at Home theme designed by Wendy Piersall. I think it looks FAB here on MomReviews!

Karen from Simply Amusing Designs will be working on getting my custom header installed, which will hopefully work so I can get back my daughter’s eyes peeking through the Sony box and the wonderful ‘Subscribe To’ box. I’m not even going to try to code it myself because I’m notorious for making a royal mess of things when I try :P

I’ve got lots and lots and LOTS of reviews and GIVEAWAYS coming, so please stop by again soon or better yet, subscribe to the MomReviews feed so you’ll know when there’s something new. Have a great weekend!

With Apologies to Joss Whedon, GRRR! AARGHH!

I have had it up to HERE with themes for this blog! I find one, I tweak it the way I like it, then someone emails me and goes “oh by the way, did you know that the theme you’re using blahblahblah?” So then I try to fix the blahblahblah and can’t, so I go find another theme I like, and guess what? Something’s wrong with THAT ONE too!

AAARRRRGGGHHHH!

I don’t know why it has to be so difficult, truly I don’t. And yet, once again, there’s a problem. I’ve reinstalled this theme which is called “Rhea” by Jai of Blog Oh! Blog, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I like this blog and I’d just like it to work!

New Theme for the New Year!

I’m trying out a new theme today, just something that freshens up the sidebars and the navigation a bit from the previous theme, nothing real radical as you can see. Still working on making the title and tagline “invisible” to readers yet visible to search engines.  Not sure about the purple accents, either. There’s a file that comes with the theme that seems to offer a choice of blue instead, but I haven’t figured out how to switch it yet.

We’re braving the Mall today to buy some Christmas gifts for Chris’ sister and her family, wish us luck!
