My Friends Tigger and Pooh: Super Duper Super Sleuths is the newest DVD release from Disney starring Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Darby, Lumpy, Roo and the Hundred Acre Wood. It’s available from Amazon.com for $18.99.

When a magical glowing, pulsing shooting star lands in Rabbit’s Garden, many of the vegetables in its path are transformed into super-sized power-granting produce, and so are Pooh, Tigger, Buster and Darby! After Tigger eats spinach, he becomes super strong. Pooh eats a carrot and gets the ability to see really far away. Buster eats a potato and gets super digging powers, and Darby’s bite of celery leaves her able to fly!

Dressed in new costumes and armed with their new super powers, the Super Duper Super Sleuths set out to help friends all over the Hundred Acre Wood.  The friends think their powers will come in handy when Lumpy and Roo’s boat floats away from them, leaving them strand on an island. But when the shooting star stops glowing and pulsing, the Sleuths’ new powers disappear, leaving them to rely on their brain power to rescue Lumpy and Roo!

Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie

Pooh halloweenOn Tuesday September 1st, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment re-released POOH’S HEFFALUMP HALLOWEEN MOVIE on DVD. Originally released in 2005, this new release adds games and DVD-ROM features, and a loveable plush Pooh wearing his Tigger Halloween costume! With Halloween less than two months away, get your kids and yourself in the mood for the holiday by watching this adorable movie starring Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Lumpy, Roo, Piglet, and Eeyore.

Roo’s friend Lumpy has never been trick-or-treating and he’s looking forward to it, until Tigger warns him about the Halloween “Gobloon” who will turn him into a “Jaggedy Lantern” if he catches him. But, if they catch the Gobloon first, they get to make a wish. When Pooh eats all the Halloween candy, Roo and Lumpy set out to catch the Gobloon so they can wish for more. When they get separated however, Roo decides to use his wish on his friend instead.

This is hand-drawn animation, not the 3D animation of “My Friends Tigger and Pooh”. It’s not very scary, just some sort of spooky looking trees and flying bats such. My 3.5 year old daughter didn’t seem scared or say anything afterwards. Use your own judgement as to whether your little ones would be too scared by the spooky story and scenery or not. For the most part, the movie is warm and funny with the timeless message of sticking by your friends and helping them when they need it.

As a bonus, the DVD includes a Limited Edition Pooh plush in a Tigger Halloween costume! It really is cute. Here’s Kaitlyn with the movie and the plush Pooh:

Tigger & Pooh and a Musical Too

Inspired by the hit Playhouse Disney series, this fun DVD features seven original songs. In the Hundred Acre Wood, it’s time for the annual picnic and this year, the gang elects Rabbit honorary mayor! Thrilled with the prospect of being mayor, Rabbit sets about posting “rules”for everyone to abide by. But Rabbit’s “no bouncing” rule is more than Tigger can bear! Through lessons of fun, adventure and teamwork, the Super Sleuths realize that treating each other with kindness and respect is the most important lesson of all.

This full-length movie includes all-new CG animation, seven original songs, including “One Big Happy Family, “A Few Simple Rules,” Bouncin’” and “Underneath the Same Sky (performed by Kenny Loggins) and bonus features such as “Rabbit’s Think, Think, Think Theatre” interactive game that lets kids pick a characters, costumes, music and stage settings to put on their very own musical! There are four fun ways to watch including the standard feature, sing-along mode, easy play and active play modes. It’s a singing, dancing adventure that the whole family can enjoy!
