Black Heritage Series puzzles and games

I had a chance to review a selection of puzzles and games from GEEBEE Marketing,  that focus on African Americans who made contributions to the culture and development of the United States.  Their goal is to bring African American history into the mainstream, rather than have it only taught during “Black History Month” in February.  There is a puzzle or game for almost all age groups.  These are the ones I received:

For ages 3-6, the 24 piece puzzle featuring Madam C.J. Walker, the first self-made female millionaire in the U.S.

For ages 5-8, the Buffalo Soldiers 100 piece puzzle.

For ages 12 and up, the 550 piece “Holy Ghost” by Annie Lee puzzle.

For ages 3-6, My First Matching Game-A Memory Game About African Americans. Up to four players take turns trying to match pairs of cards featuring the likenesses of such heroes as Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, and Josephine Baker. It also includes a booklet that tells the stories of who each person is and what their contribution was to our history.

For ages 4 and up, the I Can Do Anything Game. Similar to the Game of Life, this board game teaches about many different career opportunities as players move their pieces, and includes a “Book of Dreams” that teaches about different careers.

For ages 10 to adult, The Black Heritage Trivia Game, with over 1200 questions and answers about Black History. Answering questions correctly lets the player move their token on the board, the winner is the first to get all four tokens to the middle. It’s like a combination of Trivial Pursuit and “Sorry!”.

I encourage you to visit GeeBee to see all the available games and puzzles. There’s also a Teacher Zone with step-by-step instructions for running an in-school Black History Challenge Contest. These materials are a great way to learn about African Americans in our country’s history, any time of the year.

BonnBonn Baby Review

BonnBonn Baby is the first and only baby line to use patented technology to keep baby dry and virtually germ free. Theirr products use antimicrobial technology to kill over 650 strains of bacteria, mold, mildew, yeast and fungi, including odors associated with them. By using a wicking moisture control system, the fabric pulls wetness away from baby’s skin where it quickly evaporates. The fabric can go from wet and uncomfortable to dry and soft within minutes. The integrated thermal layer keeps baby cool in summer and warm in winter.

Imagine your baby staying dry after a spill. Imagine your baby quickly dry after wetting the sheet. Imagine no longer worrying about germs. Imagine life easier with BonnBonn Baby.

BonnBonn Baby sent me two products to review- a toddler bed sheet, and a small blanket.   Kaitlyn is still wearing Pull-ups for naps and bedtime, so she doesn’t really wet the bed, but there are times when the Pull-ups leak a little, and the sheet really does pull the moisture away so she doesn’t wake up laying on a wet, cold sheet.  The small blanket is PERFECT for carrying around and using to tuck around her dolls, and both the sheet and the blanket are getting softer every time I wash them. Getting these products to review has definitely made me a fan!

All BonnBonn Baby products- onesies, toddler tees, baby bibs, baby blankets, sheets, and changing pad covers- are  made with the same  special super soft material. All  are antimicrobial with moisture control protection, and all made in the USA.  Please visit the site if you are looking for a special baby gift too!

Happy Panda-clothes for bigger babies

Any of my readers who have seen photos of my daughter Kaitlyn know that she is not a “bigger” baby. She’s barely 30 pounds at three years old, but she has a long torso. I buy her 4T tops and roll up the sleeves so they are long enough to reach her waist. I got to chatting on Twitter with Pamela from Happy Panda about her baby boutique that carries clothes sized for bigger babies, and she asked me if I wanted to review a t-shirt. She assured me that the one I picked would fit Kaitlyn, in a size 2T. I was skeptical, but look:

My son Ryan was definitely a “happy panda” baby. Whatever age he was, he was always double that in size. It was hard to tell people what size clothes to buy him for gifts because it depended on the brand and what type of clothing it was! Pamela Kramer had a similar problem that led to her creating this unique brand of clothing:

Her first baby boy grew so quickly that he was wearing a size 2T before his first birthday. His growth rate made it difficult for friends and family to shop for him by age. The standard size charts did not apply. She became frustrated trying to find clothes that fit while offering the ability to get through those quick diaper changes without completely undressing her baby…The Happy Panda brand exists to help dress bigger babies. Our design system will help customers find a better fit when shopping by age. Happy Panda produces high quality babywear, designed and made in the USA, using environmentally safe fabrics and inks for the safest, most comfortable fit for the happy panda in your life. Our customers will enjoy knowing that the baby they buy for will be comfortable with our tagless products.

If you are looking for a baby gift for someone who is having a hard time finding well-fitting clothes for their bigger baby, check out  Happy Panda Boutique for adorable onesies, t-shirts, pants, gift sets, and more!
