This post was written on behalf of DesperateSeller.co.uk. All opinions are, as always, my own.
I have never sold a car. At least not by traditional means. I’ve only ever owned used cars, and each was been traded in after it wore out it’s ability to keep running, except for one, and that one we pretty much just gave away to our next-door neighbor who was in desperate need of a vehicle.
I’ve also never bought a car from anyone other than a dealership. In my day, the options were to read the classified ads for car sales, or pick up the Auto Trader paper, which was stacked in racks in the lobby of local restaurants, or by word of mouth. People today, so lucky with their ability to both buy and sell cars online!
In the U.K., buyers can look for cars for sale at DesperateSeller.co.uk. They pull together the listings for new, used, and leased vehicles from many top internet sites so that shoppers don’t have to go to multiple sites to look at listings. It’s one-stop used car shopping, how cool! The listings are sorted by vehicle make on the right side, everything from Chevys to Lamborghinis. Each vehicle make is then subdivided into models and model years, so it’s easy for users to find just the right vehicle to buy.
Or, to narrow down the search even further, the Car Finder at the top left of the site offers drop-down menus for used/new/leased, then make, model, minimum price, maximum price, maximum age of vehicle, and maximum mileage. I was also pleasantly surprised to see an option to choose how close the seller lives to the buyer, so they can arrange delivery. Users can search for vehicles for sale in a specific county or town, as well as click “type of car” and see listings just for four-wheel drive vehicles.
This site is easy to search, not cluttered up with distractions (nothing blinking, no automatic music or video), and appears to be pretty comprehensive in terms of variety. I hope some of my U.K. readers will find this helpful in their next search for a vehicle!
