KitchenHub Family Organizer

TudorSpan Software introduces the KitchenHub Family Organizer, an easy to use Family Organizer, calendar, and planner that brings all your family’s emails, calendars and tasks together into one easy to read and easy to use place. Each member of your family has their own screen with their calendar, to do list and email, plus everyone has access to notes, recipes, shopping lists, the address book, and more.  It costs only $39.95 (you can also pay in British Pounds or Euros) for a single computer license. I downloaded the free 30 day trial which gives me full access to all the features.  This is the sample home screen:

Set up is easy and takes just a few minutes.  You enter the first names of your family members, your city and state for the weather info, and you have your home screen. The Settings link lets you enter the email address for each person, as well as synching calendars and address books.  I was running Google Chrome when I downloaded the trial, and found it had no problem connecting to my Gmail, Google Calendars, and my Gmail Address book.  The Internet icon gives you a choice of Google, Windows Live, Yahoo!, or Facebook, clicking any of them brings up the homepage for that site. Since I’m always signed in to Facebook anyway, I like having it right there.

After adding some items to the Family Calendar, I realized that the only drawback to this is that it is only a single computer-program. It would be great if my son could see the calendar from his laptop and my husband could see it from work. I hope TuderSpan releases a version that allows for multiple computers at once. Otherwise, I see a lot of potential in this software. It’s well laid out, it’s easy to find things, easy to add and delete and edit, and it combines a ton of information into one.  Download the free trial and see for yourself!

Compare Prices and Save on Become.com

Become.com combines a product search engine with a comparison shopping site to make it incredibly easy for online shoppers to not only find the best prices on products, but also find exactly the kind of information they want about those products.  In addition,  Become.com’s News Search technology pulls information from hundreds of top US news sources every ten minutes and displays links to relevant news articles at the top of the search results page. You’ll get the latest information on any recalls, drops in price, or other new products in that category.  It really is one-stop shopping!

Now that Spring is here and little ones are eagerly eying puddles to jump in, a popular search is for  toddler rain boots. Become.com has five pages of results from brands like Western Chief, Sperry Top Sider, Keen, and Kidorable.  Drop-down sections on the left side of the page give you options to refine your search by style, type, gender, price, and brand. Once you make your choice, you are taken to the site selling those boots, like Sears or Zappos or Nordstrom to complete your purchase.

A search for cosco car seats as a possible baby shower gift brought up eight choices in prices ranging from $99.99 to $146.95, plus twelve more car seat results.  I was happy to see there was no news alert at the top of the page indicating any recalls.  Because there was only one page of results, there was no sidebar options for refining the search.  There was a good selection of stores to choose from including Target, Kmart, eBay, and Amazon. This site is a good one to bookmark for comparing prices and other options when you do your online shopping!

Healthy Chef Creations

PhotobucketHealthy Chef Creations delivers all-natural, organic cuisine created by spa chef and nutrition expert John Procacci, who is also known as “The Healthy Chef”. You can get everything from diet meals to meals for expecting and new Moms delivered fresh right to your door.  I checked out the website at their request, and my first impression is that it’s a beautifully done site that is very easy to navigate. The food photos are exquisite and made me hungry!

I took a look at the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus for both adults and children – that’s right, you can even order organic meals for your kids!  From free range breakfast meats to organic fruits and snacks, what I like best about the choices is that it’s not “fancy” food.  Organic waffles and egg white omelets for breakfast, chicken salad with fruit and nuts for lunch, pot roast for dinner,  carrot cake for dessert – and all made with natural ingredients.  Healthy Chef Creations uses a whole food diet, meaning nothing processed, no refined sugars or artificial colors, just food packed with vitamins and minerals.

Other items available include vegetarian meals, foods kids will find familiar like baked chicken fingers and sloppy joes, soups, gluten free, vegan, non-dairy cheese made from sheep’s milk, and foods with no added salt. The impression I get from reading the “About” page and the testimonials is that this is food made with care, and that it also tastes great. Check out HealthyChefCreations.com to learn more!
