Mommybloggers always write about tips for getting their kids to eat more fruit. In my house, it’s not my kids that don’t eat enough fruit, it’s ME. I just find fruit messy and time-consuming to eat. So when Dole asked me if I wanted to try using their frozen fruits to make smoothies, I decided it was a good way to see if I could at least drink my fruit.
Dole sent me cute plastic drinking glasses, coupons for the frozen fruit, and a gift card to purchase additional smoothie-making items. I used the smoothie recipes on the EatRight website to make the list of everything I would need.
The basic recipe is equal amounts of yogurt, frozen fruit, and fruit juice. So, for example, 1 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 cup pineapple juice, and 1 cup frozen strawberries. You can add additional fruit like crushed pineapple or peeled ripe bananas for extra thickness. We stuck to the 1 of each formula and made three different kinds of smoothies. Here are all the ingredients we used:
The first smoothie we made was 1 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 cup Welch’s White Grape Orange Mango juice, and 1 cup Dole Frozen Mango chunks.

I don’t care for the taste of fresh mango, so I was really surprised how much I liked this smoothie! It was really refreshing.
Next we made Strawberry Banana smoothies using 1 cup strawberry yogurt, 1 cup Welch’s Blueberry Pomegranate Concord Grape juice, and 1 cup frozen strawberries.
Seriously so, so good.I could have drunk the whole pitcher!
And for Kaitlyn our blueberry lover, we used 1 cup blueberry yogurt, 1 cup Welch’s Blueberry Pomegranate Concord Grape juice, and 1 cup frozen blueberries.
If you really like blueberries, you’ll really like that smoothie!
Final thoughts: Dole Frozen Fruits do make it easy to make delicious smoothies and make it easier for me to get more fruit in my diet. It’s easy to mix and match the fruit with different yogurts and juices, and it’s fun to see what combos can be made! Look for Dole Frozen Fruits at your local grocery store. Dole’s Facebook page has health tips, food news, recipes, and contests. Let me know if you make the smoothies!
