4 Tips For a More Comfortable Pregnancy

Sarah Lifestyle

When a woman gets pregnant it’s easy to simply eat and be lazy and use “Well I’m pregnant” as an excuse. While this is true to a certain extent, gaining more weight than necessary not only makes your pregnancy much less comfortable but it also poses health risks which can be fatal.

Focus on health during your pregnancy while keeping a healthy balance of being kind to yourself and not putting a massive amount of pressure on yourself to be perfect. No pregnancy is the same. Some women suffer horrible morning sickness for months and months while others hardly get a stomach ache.

Pregnancy can be a beautiful experience if you prepare for the fact that you might not be totally comfortable the entire time. As long as you prepare for periods of discomfort and expect that there may be moments you aren’t feeling your best, you can take the proper precautions to feel as comfortable as possible.

Take a look at some of these tips for avoiding potential problems, and you may skip some of the most common symptoms of pregnancy that women complain about.

Wear Stretchy and Loose Clothing

Don’t allow yourself to be sucked into the pressure of feeling as if you have to go out and buy all the latest fashion items in a maternity size. Chances are you might look cute for the first 3-5 months but after that, you mostly likely aren’t going to fit into your “fashionable” maternity wear.

By your third trimester, the only thing you want to live in is yoga pants and loose t-shirts. Buy yourself the basics. Buy a few pairs of super comfortable maternity leggings, some long shirts, and a couple of maxi dresses.

Exercise Moderately

Going on daily walks at a comfortable pace can not only keep your weight lower but it can also curb your stress levels. Try taking a stroll in the mornings when you have higher energy and allow yourself to rest at night.

Some women choose to exercise vigorously during their pregnancy. Talk to your physician and make sure you get cleared before taking on anything strenuous.

Get A Pregnancy Pillow

As your stomach grows and your hips widen, aches and pains can arise in places you never even knew existed. The nighttime can seem endlessly uncomfortable as you toss and turn desperate to find a position that doesn’t feel totally awkward.

Consider a pregnancy pillow which hugs the size of your body and evens your hips out when placed between your knees.

These pillows are found fairly reasonably priced and are so comfortable, you might just decide to keep it in your bed after you have the baby!
